Earlier this year Roger Sanchez released ‘Spectrum’, the first new studio album from the dance icon in twenty years. The ambitious, eclectic and guest-filled record picked up a rush of new acclaim, with Beatportal stating “‘Spectrum’ moves effortlessly between peak-time club energy and deeply personal songwriting, united by a concept that has long existed inside Sanchez’s creative imagination.” Now Roger Sanchez presents an expanded, alternate take on the record with the new ‘Spectrum Refracted’ package, which will be released on 16thOctober 2026.
‘Spectrum Refracted’ opens with a brand new track in the shape of ‘Feel Free’, which features producer, DJ and Run Bklyn Trax Company / Liberate Recordings owner EMan. Straight away it’s clear that ‘Feel Free’ continues the dizzying high standard captured throughout ‘Spectrum’, a new house anthem fuelled by maximal funk, euphoric, dancefloor-igniting beats and flourishes of sax.
The rest of ‘Spectrum Refracted’ focuses on remixes which provide fresh new twists on the originals. Roger’s own Flower Power remixes of ‘How Do We Say Goodbye’ (featuring Karen Harding) and ‘I Don’t Wanna Know’ (featuring Melanie C) have been massive crowd-pleasers during his summer-long residency at Pacha Ibiza. David Morales pushes the frenetic Latin beats of ‘Canto Al Amor’ to the fore, while Dani Masi renews the big room fervour of ‘Temptation’ without compromising the rush of the original.
‘Spectrum Refracted’ is completed by a special addition in the shape of Serdar Guven and Ahmed Ahmedov’s remix of ‘I Don’t Wanna Know’ – the winner of a global competition presented in association with Beatport. Roger and Spice Girls legend Melanie C, personally chose the duo’s track from hundreds of entries. And they deserve their spotlight moment, giving it an intelligent progressive house slant to Melanie C’s impactful topline.
Roger Sanchez says, “These remixes and my unreleased track with Eman have been secret weapons all summer long – at my Pacha Flower Power residency in Ibiza and all around Europe. I wanted to share them with everyone in the way I see and hear them – like light refracting from a prism, changing the way you see it, these versions represent an alternative way to experience songs from my album ‘Spectrum’.”
Roger Sanchez brings down the curtain on his 2026 Flower Power residency at Pacha with part one of the club’s Grand Closing Weekend on October 10th. He’ll be joined by special guests MK and LAEET.
