Seneko
True Dimension by Seneko is a slick combination of alt country with pop music, akin to Elvis Costello. The songwriting is a dazzling accomplishment on such tracks as the title song and “Pierced Lip Smile”. The latter tune about a tattoo festooned girl and her perspective on life is accompanied by some great guitar riffs. All the songs on the EP are tight, concise portraits with clever and sometimes witty lyrics. Most noteworthy, this humor is evident on “My Little Curioso”, an ode to a girl whose tastes are somewhat eclectic. Steel guitar adorns “Mind the Violets” as well as “Take Me Indigo”, perhaps my favorite songs. Another aspect of the release is the beautiful harmonies that Olshefski and band create. If you like Wilco or The Jayhawks, you’re going to like this band.

Stan “Seneko” Olshefski devotes himself to music. For the past six years, this Connecticut creator has meticulously invested his time into the art of songwriting. Last September, he debuted his self-titled EP, Seneko. Bolstered by his Indie-Pop passion, the five-song collective centers around love. In addition, this past October he released his sophomore EP True Dimensions, another collection of indie pop infused songs solely written by himself.
