Soul Messengers
Soul Messengers are a dynamic blues/soul revivalists band from Sydney, Australia. Raw, salty and just damned good! Vision & Faith, their 3rd old-school soul and funk release. has that flavor of authenticity that will keep you coming back for more. But rather than solely depend on nostalgia, contemporary topics and influences are woven through some of the powerful music you’re likely to hear this year.
Salty, Sexy and Salacious
The opening track “Let’s Go To Bed” is a sexy, salacious groove that leaves no room for misinterpretation. Great riffs and soloing by Simon Morel accompany the soulful, rich voice of Rich Aljinovic. “It’s Too Late for Tears” drives along at a steady pace while horns punctuate the urgency and passion of the lyrics. Slowing down the pace, “Don’t Let Them Tell You”, gradually builds to a glorious ending. “Eleanor Rigby” has been transformed into a funky R&B jam. While the entire album is a stunner, “Whiplash” stands out as the definitive track, a solid, retro soul piece that amply displays the talents of all band members.
Give yourself a treat and have a listen.
