Victoria, BC’s The Bankes Brothers return with “Risk It All,” the second single from their forthcoming debut album and a bold step forward in the band’s evolving sound.

Fronted by brothers Nelson and Morgan Bankes, The Bankes Brothers have built a reputation for emotionally charged songwriting, soaring melodies, and undeniable chemistry forged through years of touring and recording together. Recorded with acclaimed producer Gus van Go (The Beaches, Metric, Arkells) at Boiler Room Studio in Toronto, “Risk It All” captures the restless ambition and hard-earned perspective that comes with chasing a lifelong dream. Inspired by a melody that unexpectedly arrived during a shower, the song reflects the band’s experiences navigating the realities of the music industry — balancing day jobs, uncertainty, and burnout while holding onto the belief that life is ultimately what you make of it.


Sonically, “Risk It All” marks a departure from the band’s previous releases, embracing an energetic rock-and-roll spirit with shades of 1950s swagger and a modern edge. The recording sessions produced several memorable moments, including a standout lead guitar performance from Carson that emerged after he spent much of the session recovering from illness on a studio couch before stepping in to deliver the defining part in just a few takes.
