The Shires  SHARE THE NEW VIDEO FOR ‘I SEE STARS’

The UK’s biggest country music exports The Shires build upon the news that their soul-stirring new album ’10 Year Plan’ will be released on March 11th by sharing the video for their current single ‘I See Stars’, which received its worldwide premiere last week on Zoe Ball’s Breakfast Show on Radio 2.

While ‘I See Stars’ finds the duo – Ben Earle and Crissie Rhodes – translate their authentic country roots into an uplifting, anthemic and arena-ready sound, the video takes them back-to-basics. Accompanied by two musicians from their live band, The Shires present an intimate performance, led by Ben and Crissie’s perfectly entwined vocal harmonies, which reiterates that the song is always the star. It also echoes their organic approach to songwriting, which requires little more than a guitar and the perfect pitch of their voices.

The Shires say, “We’re so excited to be back with such an uplifting song. I See Stars is all about having that one person you know you can get through anything together”.’

The video was directed by Jackson Ducasse (Dua Lipa, James Bay, Clean Bandit) and filmed at The Roost – a Victorian-era pub converted into a studio space – in Hackney, London.

‘I See Stars’ is a captivating window into what to expect from the ’10 Year Plan’ album, which is available to pre-order HERE. From the early Taylor Swift / Lady A country-pop euphoria of the opener ‘Cut Me Loose’ to the classic pedal steel guitar of the timeless closer ‘When It Hurts’, ’10 Year Plan’ demonstrates that The Shires’ ambitious and accomplished take on country more than matches the big names from the Nashville scene. That’s something the duo demonstrate throughout, whether they’re layering their lush harmonies on ‘Sparks Fly’ and ‘Bar Without You’, collaborating with Beth McCarthy on the Civil Wars-tinged ‘Plot Twist’, or delivering rousing anthems such as ‘Skydive’.

The Shires will follow the release of ’10 Year Plan’ with a major UK headline tour in April that culminates with a landmark London show at The Palladium on May 24th.
