Unspoken Tradition Signs With Mountain Home, Hits the Main Stage at Merlefest

Arden, North Carolina (April 10, 2018) — Emerging from a musical hot-bed in the heart of North Carolina’s Bluegrass scene, Unspoken Tradition has risen rapidly with a new Bluegrass style that has distinguished them from other acts, gaining them a fervent following in the Southeast and beyond as they continue to add regional and international performance dates.

After their 2015 “Miles Between” release ranked near the top of North Carolina’s WNCW’s radio Best-of-the-Year lists, it was featured on the nationally syndicated NPR program World Cafe and landed the band in the top 50 most-played albums on XM’s Bluegrass Junction for over a year.

Now, the Cherryville, NC based quintet has been signed to the award-winning Mountain Home Music Company, home to top acts such as Balsam Range, The Lonesome River Band, Doyle Lawson and Quicksilver, Darin and Brooke Aldridge and many more. The band began recording this winter in the Crossroads Studios in Arden, NC and Mountain Home plans to release the band’s new radio single, “Land,” on May 11.

Prior to the release of songs from a yet-to-be-titled album, Unspoken Tradition will perform new and previously released music at this year’s MerleFest, the legendary festival founded by Doc Watson in memory of his son, Merle. MerleFest is a huge celebration of North Carolina’s music heritage .

Unspoken Tradition, which includes Lee Shuford, bass/vocals; Audie McGinnis, guitar/vocals; Zane McGinnis, banjo; Ty Gilpin, mandolin/vocals and Tim Gardner, fiddle/vocals, will perform on the coveted Watson Stage

 The festival’s main stage
