BAY AREA INDIE-POP ARTIST ZYLES DROPS SEDUCTIVE SUMMERTIME JAM, “SLOW LEARNER”

Bay Area based professional-pop outfit Zyles has continued his streak of releasing sophisticated and vibey pop anthems with the release of new single, “Slow Learner.” His fourth single release since last Summer, “Slow Learner” is a bouncy and seductive Summertime jam, replete with Zyles’ playful lyrical approach. CelebMix, who premiered the track recently, called the song “delightful and superb, full of burnished textures, an alluring rhythm, and the scrumptious falsetto of Zyles.”

Since dropping his debut single “Sundresses,” Zyles has caught some critical praise. The New Nine have called him the “indie-pop songster you should know,” while Substream Magazine described his sound as “slick” and “evocative” with an “80’s- leaning style of pop.” In addition Zyles has landed on a number of key Spotify playlists, including the BMI #MusicMonday playlist.

Born and raised in Manhattan, Zyles grew up playing rock and blues, followed by more formal jazz training. While attending Stanford where he belonged to the jazz orchestra, Zyles spent time studying abroad in China, which was the inspiration behind his newfound musical moniker—Zyles comes from the re-romanization of his Chinese name, 叶子力 (Ye Zi Li). After graduation, while living and working in San Francisco and armed with his experiences working in the tech world, Yellin-Flaherty gave birth to Zyles, a project that is informed thematically by the glory and absurdity of today’s city living, and musically by Yellin Flaherty’s carefully crafted urbane pop.

To celebrate the new single release, Zyles will be performing at Brick and Mortar in San Francisco on June 26th. Ticket info and more can be found here.
