Daniel’s Music Workshop

Daniel Grinberg

Originally from Buenos Aires, Daniel Grinberg moved with his family to Israel at an early age.  While working in the music and technology fields for many years, he has recently assembled a talented group of young musicians to form his music project Daniel’s Music Workshop.  Their latest release, Million Colors, features rock, pop, folk and other genres to create a solid set of songs with a socially conscientious attitude.  While the environmentally concerned “Genesis” rocks out, songs like “Bye Mesh” evokes the memories of a favorite pet utilizing a folk ballad motif.  The vocals of Alex Moshe are gentle and evocative, yet never syrupy.  Also, her voice is featured on several other tracks, including “Orgulloso” and “Rain”.

“Keep On Walking” has that Chris Isaak tone with its guitar reverb and intense vocals.  Perhaps the most interesting track is “Roots of Peace”, featuring Moshe again on vocals.  Beginning with acoustic guitar, the introduction of reeds takes us into a pastoral setting that mirrors the title.  Because of this atmosphere, the electric guitar solo is jarring as the lyrics take us deeper into this examination of discord and peace.  The album ends with the title track, an appropriate explanation of Grinberg’s vision and sources of songwriting inspiration.  Also, it’s nice to hear him stripped down in this acoustic form as he wraps up the ensemble album.  Most of all I believe you’ll like the earnest, clever songwriting that sets this one apart.
