Ella Reid
The new single from Austin singer/songwriter Ella Reid is a charming throwback to 50s country. Combining rock, pop and retro country, “Suck It Up Buttercup” is quite the contrast to her harder-rocking album Drive. It’s the perfect antidote to the daily grind as it delivers its positive message on dealing with life, the kind of song that has you humming along upon first listen. Her energetic vocals and Buddy Holly like rhythm are infectious while the guitar and fiddle solos add the icing to the cake. Due to its nostalgic feel, I felt like I was listening to old country radio. It’s fun and full of humor, don’t miss it.
