Ella Reid

The new single from Austin singer/songwriter Ella Reid is a charming throwback to 50s country.  Combining rock, pop and retro country, “Suck It Up Buttercup” is quite the contrast to her harder-rocking album Drive.  It’s the perfect antidote to the daily grind as it delivers its positive message on dealing with life, the kind of song that has you humming along upon first listen.  Her energetic vocals and Buddy Holly like rhythm are infectious while the guitar and fiddle solos add the icing to the cake.  Due to its nostalgic feel, I felt like I was listening to old country radio.  It’s fun and full of humor, don’t miss it.

Austin, TX based singer/songwriter Ella Reid displays her evolving country/pop/rock style and showcases her unique artistry.  Raised in Stillwater, Minnesota, Ella has been playing music for over 20 years.  Ella attended the Frank Brown Songwriters Festival for two years in Orange Beach, Alabama.  Also, she won the coveted first place for the Nashville Songwriter’s Association. She learned to play guitar her senior year of high school and never looked back. Over the years Ella learned to hone her talent and really lock into the pop/country/rock sound she has today. Best of all, the hooky, emotion drenched melodies are what make up Ella Reid and her music.

Her previous album Drive is available on Pandora, iTunes, Spotify and SiriusXM, as well as her website ellareidmusic.com. Packed with pop hooks and soaring melodies, the album is a sonic treat that takes you on a musical journey.  From the road-trip-ready sing along “Drive”, to the Pat Benatar-esque Rocker “Kiss Me”, to the jazzy and delicate love song “From Me To You”, there is a sense these songs are crafted to show you exactly who she is with a wide variety of influences and talent.
